Diagnosing Heating Element Problems

To tell which heating element is faulty, it is usually easy. For example, you can detect that your defective upper heating element if there is a constant supply of lukewarm water during a shower whereas you can indentifies a defective lower heating element when there a short supply of fully hot water.

• • Now if the heating element is Flange –type then by removing the four screws holding the element in place, remove a flange-type heating element.

• • If you are replacing the bottom heating element, it is good practice to remove and sediment at the bottom of the tank. So, where the gasket fastens to the tank, clean the area surrounding.
